The difference between the two cities—located less than 90 minutes apart—is remarkable.

It was the second driest July in 141 years in Prince Albert, which only received 4.9 millimetres of rain last month. Saskatoon received 69 millimetres—good for 117 per cent of normal July precipitation.  Here is a snapshot of Environment Canada weather statistics from various locations around the province.

July was an average month for temperature with variations of only one degree or so from the long-term numbers.  The month started off warmer than normal, but the second half was cooler.
