The remains of a 40-year-old woman from Ahtahkakoop Cree Nation have been discovered in a remote area about 25 kilometres northwest of her home.

On July 18, Big River RCMP responded to the scene, west of Victoire.

Sherry Michelle Ahenakew was reported as missing to Ahtahkakoop RCMP on June 12, and her death is considered suspicious in nature.

Major Crimes continue to investigate and ask anyone with information about her death to contact police by dialing 310-RCMP or by contacting Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers.
