The Saskatoon Police Service says a 33-year-old Saskatoon man is recovering, following a stabbing that occurred early yesterday in the city’s East College Park neighbourhood. At approximately 4:30 a.m. Sunday officers responded to a report of an injured person at McKercher Drive and Edinburgh Place.
They found a man suffering a stab wound with a passerby lending aid. Police believe the incident may have happened in a parking lot in the 3900 block of 8th Street East and involved a small, black car.
The Serious Assault Unit is now investigating. Anyone with information is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
Earlier in the weekend, the Saskatoon Police Service says occupants of a home in the 500 block of Avenue G South called police Friday around 6:30 p.m. reporting they were being threatened with bear spray by a group of teens, all males.
Officers didn’t locate suspects at the time but were called back a couple of hours later after receiving a report that someone rang the doorbell and when answered the occupant inside was bear sprayed. A 58-year-old man was treated on the scene by paramedics. Three suspects were located in nearby Victoria Park.
Three teens, ages 15, 16 and 17 are facing charges of Possession of a Weapon Dangerous to the Public Peace, Carrying a Concealed Weapon and Uttering Threats. One teen is also facing a charge of Assault.
