Humboldt RCMP are investigating fatal collision that took place in Humboldt around 11 a.m. this past Saturday.
A car and an SUV collided at the intersection of 11th Avenue and Main Street.
Both drivers were transported to hospital by EMS. The driver of the car was later declared deceased. He has been identified as a 35-year-old man from Humboldt.
The driver of the SUV had injuries described as serious, but non-life-threatening. Neither vehicle had any passengers.
Investigation determined that, prior to the collision, a conservation officer had observed the car travel through an intersection at a high rate of speed. The conservation officer activated their vehicle’s emergency equipment to try and pull the car over but lost sight of the vehicle.
Humboldt RCMP continue to investigate with the assistance of a Saskatchewan RCMP collision reconstructionist.
