Just over 60 Saskatchewan communities will benefit from road safety enhancements made possible through the Provincial Traffic Safety Fund.
The Fund, which is supplemented using proceeds from photo speed enforcement, is providing a total of $1.54 million to these municipalities and First Nations.
Several of the projects include flashing pedestrian crossing signs in Estevan, a crosswalk in Lampman, and streetlights on the Red Earth Cree Nation. Grants in this round range from $853 to $100,000.
Applications are now being accepted for the next round of funding, with the deadline being September 30.
