The University of Saskatchewan says three of their students have been awarded the most esteemed scholarships for doctoral students in the country. Each Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship provides $150,000 over three years to support research.
The three recipients include Arianna Gibson, a Métis doctoral student in clinical psychology, is exploring the parenting experiences of individuals with borderline personality disorder (BPD).Jeremy Irvine, a doctoral student in the College of Agriculture and Bioresources and a member of Yellow Quill First Nation, is developing sustainable pest control methods to protect red clover crops. Jinnath Rehana Ritu, a doctoral student in biology, is investigating the effects of the neurotoxin BMAA on learning and memory in zebrafish. Her work bridges environmental science and neurobehaviour to better understand the long-term risks of neurotoxin exposure and inform public health and environmental policy.
