The Saskatchewan All-Terrain Vehicle Association (SATVA) is reminding the public the best way to ensure a fun summer is to ride safe. SATVA says wearing a properly fitted helmet when riding ATVs is crucial as it significantly reduces the risk of death and serious injury in an ATV rollover or collision.
To operate an ATV legally in Saskatchewan, riders must be at least 16 years old hand hold a valid driver’s license. Those under 16 can ride at age 12 with the completion of an approved ATV safety training course and direct supervision by someone with a valid driver’s license.
