In the most recent update from Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency (SPSA), there are 63 wildfires burning around the province and 17 are not contained. There are 25 with on-going assessment and 11 are listed at protecting values.
The five-year average for this time is 195 for the province and Saskatchewan has surpassed that number for this year alone, at 334 wildfires to date. There are four communities under evacuation order: Resort Subdivision of Lac La Plonge, La Plonge Reserve, Northern Village of Beauval and Kinoosao. The evacuation order was lifted on July 4, 2025, at noon for the Northern Settlement of Bear Creek.
The SPSA’s Recovery Task Team is continuing their meetings with community leaders about recovery efforts. Evacuees should register with the Sask Evac Web Application and then call 1-855-559-5502 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. to have needs assessed for assistance. Evacuees supported by the Canadian Red Cross should call 1-800-863-6582.
Distribution of the $500 Government of Saskatchewan payments to those evacuees 18 years of age and older continues. To date, more than $5.5 million has been distributed.
