The theme for Canada Day continues to be a respectful honouring of our nation and our history and how we walk forward in the spirit of reconciliation. Different cultural groups will be showing their culture through performances and food, celebrating our multicultural nation. The Traffic Bridge alone will have over 20 food trucks representing different cultures in Saskatchewan.
Major celebrations will be held at River Landing 1 with entertainment, activities and vendors. Cultural performances will be on stage at the Amphitheatre and with the celebration spread along the western riverbank, entertainment on the Cliff Wright stage has been added.
Many activities for families and children are included and henna tattoos will be available. Darth Vader, Batman and a princess may be in attendance, as well.
Activities start at noon, however; the food vendors will be available at 11:00 a.m.
Fireworks will be launched from Rotary Park at 10:30 p.m. People are not permitted in Rotary Park and the park will be policed. Great viewing of the fireworks are the Traffic Bridge and the River Landing 1 and River Landing 2 leading up to the Pump House, as well as nearby parks and sidewalks.
