Tickets for the STARS Lottery are now on sale, and the doors to the $1.6 million Grand Prize Dream Home are officially open to the public.
Mark Oddan, Program Manager of Lotteries, says the 4 four-bedroom, 3.5-bathroom home, located in Saskatoon’s Greenbryre neighborhood, is open for viewing between 11:00 am and 5:00 pm every weekend until August long.
He adds that the home is light, bright, modern yet timeless, and not too over the top for any type of family.
He adds that when you buy a lottery ticket, you’re supporting STARS’ largest fundraiser that accounts for one third of the dollars they need to operate year-round.
“Your ticket is going directly towards ensuring that our helicopters are in peak conditions, that they are services, that they have fuel in their tanks, that they’ve got expert crew with the latest tools and technology at their disposal to have a flying ICU.”
He adds that buying a STARS Lottery ticket is potentially life changing for the ticket purchaser, but it is 100 per cent lifesaving for someone else.
“STARS is not just about helping those who live in rural and remote areas. We are here for everyone in the province,” he explains. “We are here, yes for those people who live in those rural and remote areas, but also for people who are out in the larger urban centres who are, especially at this time of year, are on the road travelling for work or play.”
Tickets are $60 each, and $10 for the 50/50 and STARS Daily Cash tickets.
“We really hope, every year, but especially in honour of our 40th Anniversary, that people will consider getting a lottery ticket…and if you’ve already done so, maybe purchasing another.”
He adds that this is the first year since Covid that tickets will be sold inside the home during viewings, but tickets can also be purchased online at STARSlottery.ca or by calling 1844 STARS SK.
The deadline to purchase a ticket is August 8th.
