The Saskatoon Fire Department responded to a structure fire at 9:13 a.m. Saturday in the 600 block of Avenue N South.

Three minutes later fire crews arrived and could see smoke coming from the roof as well as from inside.  Within 15 minutes crews had entered the building and located and removed a person from inside.

The individual removed from the building succumbed to their injuries.  The fire was brought under control at 9:43 a.m.

A Fire Investigator is working with the Saskatoon Police Service.   The cause and origin of the fire remain under investigation.
