Prairie Clean Cat Litter is a new product created by a Saskatchewan company repurposing flax straw which would typically be burned on the field. Prairie Clean Energy has partnered with the Regina Humane Society which will use their product exclusively.
Prairie Clean Cat Litter is made from flax straw and is extremely effective in eliminating the smell of ammonia, is three times more absorbent than clay and four times more absorbent than crystal litter, which reduces the need for frequent scooping, is all natural and unscented, eco-friendly and safer for cats and humans as it reduces the ammonia in the air throughout the home.
Prairie Clean Energy’s CEO & President Mark Cooper says Prairie Clean Cat Litter is made right here in Saskatchewan using 100% natural flax straw from local prairie farmers and when consumers choose Prairie Clean, they are directly supporting local families and the prairie economy.
Cooper says this flax straw is repurposed into an ultra-absorbent, eco-friendly cat litter. The small dense pellets made from the flax straw turned out to be very absorbent and eliminates ammonia really well, making it really great for cat litter as well as animal bedding.
Individuals adopting cats from the Regina Humane Society will be sent home with a bag of Prairie Clean Cat Litter and consumers can also purchase online by visiting prairiecleancatlitter.ca.
