The Saskatchewan Trafficking Response Team with assistance from the Yorkton Police Dog Service, conducted a traffic stop in connection to an ongoing drug trafficking investigation. This was last Monday approximately five kilometres south of Yorkton. Officers arrested two people in the vehicle.
That same day, officers from the Yorkton Detachment, the Swift Current Saskatchewan Trafficking Response Teams, and the Moose Jaw Crime Reduction Team, executed search warrants at two homes in Yorkton – one in the 200 block of 4th Avenue North and one in the 100 block of 3rd Avenue South. Officers arrested two adult males, one at each residence.
Searches of the two properties and the vehicle resulted in the seizure of 1.177 kilograms of cocaine, $75,712.90 in cash and other drug trafficking paraphernalia. Last Thursday in connection to the investigation officers arrested a woman at a home in Yorkton
As a result of investigation, three men: 31-year-old Jude Becker, 21-year-old Risto Zimmer, and 29-year-old Dalton Swain and a 37-year-old woman, Chelsea Schlechter, all from Yorkton, are each charged with one count, possession for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine and one count, possession of proceeds of crime over $5,000.
The adult passenger of the vehicle was released without charges.
