Evacuees from Whelan Bay, Creighton and Denare Beach have begun to return to their communities, and during their briefing Monday the Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency (SPSA) reported as of 12:45 pm there are 19 active fires burning in Saskatchewan with five not contained.
The Shoe Fire is 50 per cent contained while the Pisew Fire west of La Ronge is 21 percent contained.
The south end of the Shoe Fire saw low clouds and drizzly precipitation most of the day on June 22nd. The north half of the fire saw little to no moisture.
The Pisew Fire is currently quiet due to weather conditions and crews continue to monitor fire lines and hot spots.
Crews are working on hot spots on the Wolf Fire west of Denare Beach concentrating on the area of Phantom Lake. A significant portion of the fuel has burned off and the crews will extinguish the remaining hot spots to prevent further spread to the east. Sprinklers continue to be deployed on the fire at the dump in Denare Beach and have pumps running through the day.
Crews continue to monitor and work on the Jaysmith Fire, the Santo Fire and the Ditch Fire.
