There was a fire in an apartment building in the 1100 block of McKercher Drive on Wednesday evening. The call came in at 6:50 p.m. and arriving fire crews could see smoke and flames coming from a balcony.

The Saskatoon Fire Department says crews got busy putting water on the fire while other firefighters searched the building and confirmed everyone had safely evacuated. Large fans were used to remove any lingering smoke and toxins from the suite.

No one was injured, meanwhile, the cause, origin and damage estimate are being investigated.
