An injury and the C-F-L’s Canadian-American roster ratio rules have conspired against Ka’Deem Carey’s return to Toronto to play against the team that, surprisingly, released him almost three full weeks ago.
The Saskatchewan Roughriders placed Canadian receiver Sam Emilus and his sore foot on the one-game injured list with American Joe Robustelli to start in his place. That means the Riders couldn’t justify sacrificing an American at another position due to the ratio, so Carey has been placed on the practice roster while Canadian running back Thomas Bertrand-Hudon is healthy and will back-up A-J Ouellette. Kick-off time Friday is 5:30.
