Melfort RCMP have arrested two people in relation to three damaged police vehicles.
Monday after 9:30 p.m., officers received a report that a truck was striking parked police vehicles at the Melfort RCMP detachment parking lot. Investigation determined that a truck was driving around the area erratically and struck three parked police vehicles and two dumpsters.
Police say the male driver then exited the truck and the female passenger got in the driver’s seat and drove away. The man was arrested, and officers located the truck and the woman not long after. She was arrested as well.
One of the police vehicles was extensively damaged and is no longer driveable while another will require repairs.
Now, 45-year-old Terrance Whitehead from Saskatoon is facing three charges, while the woman is charged with operate a conveyance while impaired by drug. Both appeared in court on Tuesday.
