In the recent update from Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency, there are 13 active wildfires with 3 not-contained, and due to weather conditions helping over the weekend, the provincial fire ban has been rescinded., however, several communities may still have their own local fire ban in place. The number of wildfires not contained is down from five over the past 24 hours due to favourable weather conditions and the efforts of fire fighters.
Five communities are still under evacuation order which are Creighton, Denare Beach, East Trout Lake, Whelan Bay and priority individuals in Cumberland House.
The SPSA confirmed over 350 values have been lost due to wildfires and it is expected to increase over 500 once assessments are completed.
