A 19-year-old was arrested early Tuesday morning by the Saskatoon Police Service following an impaired driving investigation.
According to an S-P-S news release, a sergeant was on patrol at about 3 a.m. Tuesday in the Laurier Drive area when he saw a vehicle speeding on Circle Drive. The vehicle refused to stop when a traffic stop was attempted, then ran a red light at Warman Road and 51st street before turning into a residential area. The vehicle was located parked unattended in the 200 block of Pinehouse Drive. A person, who was later determined to be the driver, was observed outside an apartment complex nearby. The person was found to be impaired and arrested without incident. The 19-year-old is charged with impaired driving, exceeding .08, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and operating a motor vehicle being pursued by police while failing to stop.
