Warman RCMP have laid charges against a 17-year-old male charged in connection with an assault with a weapon at a business in Martensville on Friday night.
The teen is charged with several counts under the Youth Criminal Justice Act including aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm and carrying a weapon for a dangerous purpose. An adult is also being charged, but RCMP are unable to provide further details currently.
The victim was assaulted at a business on the 200 block of Centennial Drive North in Martensville, just before 10 o’clock on Friday evening. The man was taken to hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries. The 17-year-old was arrested at hospital while be treated for stab injuries, while the man was picked up at a residence in Martensville.
RCMP indicate the incident was not random in nature.
