Last Tuesday Prince Albert RCMP say officers responded to a report of a vehicle, previously reported as stolen, having been spotted at a business in Redwing.
Officers located the vehicle and surrounded the stolen vehicle with police cruisers.
Prince Albert RCMP say the stolen vehicle drove backwards, striking one of the police vehicles, and then drove forward, striking a second police vehicle. The man driving the stolen vehicle got out and fled on foot. Officers pursued and quickly made an arrest. None of the officers were hurt but police vehicles were damaged.
Twenty-four-year-old Zachary Carriere from Prince Albert is facing nine charges ranging from assault on police officer with a weapon to dangerous operation of a motor vehicle. Three other males were inside the stolen vehicle and one of them, 24-year-old Orrin Beatty was arrested on an outstanding warrant while the other two were released.
