A 27-year-old man was arrested in Saskatoon on Wednesday evening following a firearm-related incident.
Shortly before 6:00, officers were dispatched to a weapons call at a home in the 400 block of Avenue R South. A man was reportedly seen pointing a gun at people from the home.
Officers tried to evacuate the house, however those inside refused to exit. About half an hour later, after officers produced the Armoured Rescue Vehicle, five people left the home and were taken into custody. One of them confessed to recently consuming fentanyl, and he was taken to hospital by paramedics for assessment prior to being returned to SPS Detention.
A sixth person tried to escape the house through the rear window but was quickly arrested. A shotgun was located and seized from the yard, and a machete was seized from inside the home.
