It’s my Parting Shot for Week 2 C-F-L winner picks from The Fearless Predictor…..
The safe bet in Week 1 of the regular-season was to go with all the home teams, which turned out to be the case. T-F-P wasn’t convinced about the Saskatchewan Roughriders, hence I ended up 3-and-1 for opening week. Let’s see how I feel about Week 2…
…starting tonight with B-C in Winnipeg. Nathan Rourke and the Lions looked really good in trouncing Edmonton last Saturday. I said Saturday, meaning a short week for B-C while the Blue Bombers have been idle from playing for almost two whole weeks. I still think Winnipeg will be more than okay this season and will show it by declawing the Lions by less than a touchdown!
Tomorrow, it’s Montreal at Ottawa. The Alouettes won by the largest margin of any of the four Week 1 games, bouncing visiting Toronto. The RedBlacks made too many mistakes and fell too far behind to comeback and beat the Green and White. Ottawa will be without starting quarterback Dru Brown for this contest, so I’ve got Montreal by less than a field goal!
Saturday’s first game is Calgary going to Toronto. The Stampeders won at home over Hamilton while the Argos were thrashed in Montreal. Home field seems to matter early in the season, so I’ll go with Toronto by more than a touchdown!
Lastly, it’s the Riders visiting Hamilton. It’s the same situation as the other Saturday tilt where Saskatchewan is on the road after winning at home while the Tiger-Cats are home after losing on the road. Except this time, I’m going to tempt fate – as Rider Priders urge me to pick against the Green and White – by saying the Roughriders will be victorious by just over a field goal over Hamilton!
The oddsmakers feel that only Toronto will win with home-field advantage this week and I’m almost there with them! We’ll see!!
That’s my Parting Shot. I’m Les Lazaruk…and it turned out nice again!
