The evacuation notice for the Lac La Ronge region, which also includes Air Ronge and the Lac La Ronge Indian band, has been lifted, effective Thursday at 8:00 a.m.
In a Facebook post, Emergency Operations Centre Director Lyle Hannan stated that up until 8:00 a.m. on the 12th, the roadblock on the south side of La Ronge will remain in place, and only essential personnel and support services will be permitted through.
He also asked the public to travel safely on Thursday and in days that follow, as both traffic and services in the area may experience some congestion upon a mass return of citizens.
The fire impacting the region is the 181,765-hectare Pisew fire. It was responsible for the evacuations of Hall Lake, Nemeiben Lake, Sucker River, English Bay, Wadin Bay, Sikachu, Clam Crossing, La Ronge, Air Ronge, LLRIB, Eagle Point, Potato Lake, Lamp Lake, Rabbit Creek, and Napatak.
