The Saskatchewan Teachers’ Federation says binding arbitration has led to additional funding for school divisions from the provincial government.
The funding, to the tune of $20 million, will fund the class complexity clauses of the Provincial Collective Bargaining Agreement. In addition, 515 new teaching positions will be funded.
A release from the STF says the new money was “achieved through the determination of teachers and the support of parents and caregivers. While it is a positive step, it will take sustained and consistent funding to reverse the long-term impacts.”
