It seems as though the Saskatchewan Roughriders are having a tough time settling on a replacement for Adam Korsak as the Green and White’s punter for 2025.
The Riders signed New Zealand native James Evans Tuesday morning. The move comes a day after Saskatchewan released Bailey Flint, leaving fellow Australian Joe Couch as the lone punter on the Roughriders’ roster. The 24-year-old Evans was Winnipeg’s second-round pick in the 2025 C-F-L Global Draft. He dressed for both of the team’s pre-season games against the Green and White, punting six times for a net average of 38.3 yards before being released by the Blue Bombers at the conclusion of training camp. Evans played collegiately at Indiana. Saskatchewan opens the regular season on Thursday against Ottawa with kickoff at 7 o’clock at Mosaic Stadium.
