There are 15 wildfires burning in Saskatchewan with six not contained. The Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency is responding to 18 Evacuation incidents.
In their daily update the Resort Village of Candle Lake says they were informed by the SPSA that the “Shoe” fire is 14 kilometres from Candle Lake. While the voluntary evacuation advisory remains in place, no mandatory evacuation is being recommended due forecasted winds remaining favourable.
There have been 216 fires to date in the province as compared to 172 at the same time last year while the five year average is 131.
