An ordered evacuation is being issued for Sucker River due to a wildfire that is threatening the community.
The online SaskAlert website says the wildfire is fast moving and individuals in Sucker River must start evacuation immediately.
Chief Tammy Cook-Searson has advised residents to stay calm and drive safely to La Ronge or come to the Sucker River band hall to board a bus.
Instructions are:
-Individuals who can self-evacuate and find their own accommodations must use Highway 102 and proceed to JRMCC Centre in La Ronge and register.
-If you require transportation proceed to the Band Hall and register.
-Individuals who require transportation on buses are allowed one small bag of personal belongings.
-There are no pets allowed on the buses or in the shelters.
Also under an evacuation order are Wadin Bay, English Bay and the Neimeiben subdivision. Residents from those areas are also being directed toward the JRMCC centre in La Ronge by Northern Municipal Services.
