A mental health professional who gave herself the goal of walking a million steps along Meewasin’s trails during the pandemic has successfully completed her “Million Steps for Mental Health” campaign.
Fran Sreedhar’s goal was to promote mental health awareness and raise $10,000 to benefit both Meewasin and the Canadian Mental Health Association.
She logged over five million steps over the five-year campaign, reaching a million steps annually, which is about 2750 steps or 15-20 minutes of walking per day.
Sreedhar started walking The Meewasin Trail during the Covid-19 pandemic and discovered how exercise and connection with nature helped improve her mental health.
