Confirming their promise to work together, SaskPower and the Saskatchewan First Nations Resource Centre of Excellence signed a Memorandum of Understanding Thursday, to find additional opportunities to include First Nations in the province’s power system.
Sheldon Wuttunee, President and CEO of the Saskatchewan First Nations Natural Resource Centre of Excellence says, “Opportunities to support the planning and build out of the power system in Saskatchewan will transform our communities, by growing our economic participation and revitalizing relationships between First Nations and the province.”
Workforce, supply chain and energy development, Indigenous equity participation, engagement, training in their EXPORT database, and employment and supplier opportunities are the focus of the MOU.
