Wildfires in northern Saskatchewan have damaged parts of SaskTel’s fibre transport infrastructure.

There is significant network congestion impacting internet, cell phone and landlines services in the following communities—Southend, Key Lake, Cigar Lake, Collins Bay, Wollaston Lake, Black Lake, Stony Rapids and Fond du Lac, Brabant Lake and  Sucker Lake.

Sasktel crews are unable to access and make repairs due to the wildfires. Customers in the impacted areas will have dropped phone calls and discontinued data sessions. SaskTel is asking customers in those areas to limit their internet and phone use as much as possible until repairs can be made.
