A major scientific conference is coming back to Saskatoon. The Annual Joint Congress of the “Canadian Meteorological and Oceanographic Society” (CMOS) and the “Canadian Geophysical Union” (CGU) has an expected 400 researchers and scientists from across the country, gather to focus on climate change. This year’s theme is “Resilient Futures” and kicks off May 25th with a free public lecture at TCU Place at 7 pm.
Terri Lang is a Meteorologist with CMOS and says the free lecture will have researcher, Dr. Corinne Schuster-Wallace from the University of Saskatchewan’s Global Institute for Water Security, who will speak about issues and challenges with water and climate change, and how society can adapt.
The conference runs from Sunday, May 25th to Thursday, May 29th, with meteorologists, oceanographers, climatologists, hydrologists, geodesists and bio geoscientists, who will gather to share information, and find ways to be proactive about climate change, and to network to help create policy.
