A 16-year-old male was arrested in connection to a weapons call in the 2200 block of Rusholme Road on Thursday.
That is the same block where Mount Royal Collegiate is located and police say the suspect was in the park. The call to police said a person was armed with a shotgun.
In a news release the Saskatoon Police Service says officers located a teen who had a sawed-off shotgun but say he refused to comply with officer commands while trying to load the gun.
Following a struggle the teen was taken into custody, and police say they believe he was under the influence of an intoxicant at the time.
A 16-year-old male has been charged with carrying a firearm in a careless manner, possession of a firearm without a license, possession of a loaded prohibited weapon, possession of a weapon while prohibited, and two counts of failure to comply with court-imposed conditions.
