The number of influenza cases are dropping as spring winds down and summer approaches.

The provincial Ministry of Health says there were only 11 hospital admissions for influenza last week and 23 the previous week. That compares to 60 admissions during the previous two-week reporting period.

There were only six influenza admissions to Intensive Care Units (ICU) over the past two weeks. There were no influenza or COVID related deaths between May 4th and May 17th. There were only nine hospital admissions for COVID during that same period, which included one person going to the I.C.U.

Over the summer, there will be monthly reports with the first one on June 20th
