Arrest made in fatal Highway #11 hit-and-run

The Prince Albert Provincial General Investigation Section has made an arrest in connection to a fatal hit and run from May 20th.

At 2:15 a.m. RCMP received a report of a dead man on Highway #11 just south of the turn-off to MacDowall.

Then on Wednesday, officers located the suspect vehicle, a black Jeep on Beardy’s & Okemasis Cree Nation, and a female teenager was arrested shortly after.

She has been charged with one count of failure to stop after an accident causing death and is scheduled to appear in Prince Albert Provincial Court on June 18.

The deceased has also been identified. He is not a Canadian citizen, and efforts are being made to contact his family.
