Suspicious vehicle arrest
The Saskatoon Police say one person has been arrested in connection to a suspicious vehicle investigation on Tuesday.
Shortly before 10:00 a.m. police responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle in an alley in the 30 block of Marlborough Crescent. When they arrived in Saskatoon’s Massey Place neighbourhood, police found a vehicle which had a stolen license plate with two people asleep inside.
A 43-year-old man has been charged with possession of stolen property under $5,000 and failure to comply with court-imposed conditions. The other occupant was released without charges.
Aggravated assault
The Saskatoon Police Service says a 28-year-old woman is facing numerous charges after allegedly assaulting multiple people on Tuesday.
Around 12:15 p.m. police responded to a report of a stabbing in the 400 block of Sylvian Crescent in Saskatoon’s Wildwood neighbourhood.
In a news release, police say a 35-year-old man and a 36-year-old man had both been stabbed. The victims were taken to hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries. Police believe the suspect who was a 28-year-old woman left a home where a 78-year-old man had been assaulted and then smashed a window in a neighbouring residence. Officers deployed a conducted energy weapon (CEW) and the suspect was arrested.
A 28-year-old woman faces charges of two counts of Aggravated Assault, one count of assault and one count of Mischief. The suspect and aggravated assault victims are believed to be known to each other.
Assault a police officer
The Saskatoon Police Service says officers responded shortly after 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday to a mall in the 200 block of 1st Avenue South after receiving a report of an assault.
That is the block where Midtown Plaza is located, and the investigation determined the mall’s security had detained a man for spitting in the face of one of their guards.
Police believe the man was also under the influence of an intoxicant. In a news release Saskatoon Police say as he was being transferred into the custody of the SPS, the man kicked a Constable in the stomach. The officer was not seriously injured.
A 53-year-old man has been charged with assault and assaulting a police officer.
Stabbing Tuesday night
One man was taken to hospital after a stabbing on Tuesday night.
Around 11:00 p.m. police responded to an injured person report in the 2200 block of 22nd Street West.
Officers found a man suffering a non-life-threatening stab wound. They say the victim was walking in the area when he was confronted by two men and stabbed; the suspects then fled the area. It is unknown if the suspects and victim knew one another.
The Serious Assault Unit is investigating.
