Prince Albert RCMP say a possible hit and run closed down the southbound lanes of Highway #11 early Tuesday morning.

At 2:15 a.m. RCMP received a report of a deceased man on Highway #11 just south of the turn-off to MacDowall.

He has not been formally identified so no further details will be released about the victim at this time.

Investigators believe the vehicle involved is a black Jeep which likely has damage to its front end. RCMP ask anyone who captured surveillance or dashcam footage on Highway #11 south of MacDowall between midnight and 2:15 a.m. to report it to police.

They also would like to speak to anyone travelling in the area at that time, or who may know where the damaged black Jeep is. The information can be reported by calling 3-10-R-C-M-P or by contacting Crime Stoppers.

Highway #11 has since reopened.
