A 24-year-old man from Canoe Narrows, Mike Bouvier, has been charged with multiple offenses, including kidnapping with a firearm, after a dangerous person alert was issued last week in connection with a May 15, 2025, incident on Island Lake First Nation.

RCMP responded to reports that Bouvier had entered a residence with a firearm, though it was not discharged, and left with a woman who was later found safe, with non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect vehicle, reported stolen, was located off Highway #699, and Bouvier was arrested after a search involving Police Dog Services and Remotely Piloted Aircraft.

Bouvier faces charges including kidnapping, assault, theft of a motor vehicle, and more, and is scheduled to appear in court on May 20, 2025.
