RCMP in southeast Saskatchewan are advising additional precautions to prevent thefts from public buildings.

Over the past couple of weeks, there have been multiple reports of break-ins at businesses and community facilities.

An investigation is underway to determine if the break-ins are connected.

RCMP adds it’s important to report all crime and suspicious activity because it gives officers a clearer picture of the types and numbers of crimes occurring in the area.

RCMP outlines additional steps to take to defer theft

-install an alarm system covering the building’s interior and exterior. Ensure that it is always up-to-date and functional.

-consider installing a video surveillance and a fence with locking gate.

-ensure outdoor light is adequate and always in good working order.
