The Saskatoon Police Service Major Crime Section is investigating the city’s third homicide of 2025.
At approximately 5:00 a.m. on May 17, officers responded to a motel in the 2000 block of Avenue B North, where they found a 20-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to hospital, but later succumbed to his injuries. A 27-year-old male has been arrested and charged with First Degree Murder, while a second suspect, 26-year-old Lawrence Opikowew, remains at large and is considered armed and dangerous.
