Environment Canada has issued an air quality advisory for a section of central Saskatchewan that encompasses Prince Albert, as well as further north to Cumberland House and Big Sandy Lake.
The smoke is causing or expected to cause poor air quality and reduced visibility. Environment Canada warns that as smoke levels increase, health risks increase. The agency reminds the public to limit time outdoors and consider reducing or rescheduling outdoor sports, activities and events. There are currently 11 active wildfires in the province, down from 19 on Monday, and 5 are contained.
