A para-swimmer from Prince Albert is the April SaskSport Athlete-of-the-Month.
Ali Diehl won two gold medals, a silver and a bronze at the World Para Swimming Series in Indianapolis in the latter stages of April. As a result, the high school student qualified for the World Para Swimming Championships, to be held in late September in Singapore. Competing in the SB9 class, Diehl won golds in the 100-metre breaststroke – in both the Under-18 and women’s open divisions – a silver in the 200-metre individual medley and a bronze in the 50-metre freestyle. In addition, she set personal best times in four events. Meanwhile, earlier in April, Diehl took part in the 2025 Canadian Swimming Open, claiming gold in the SB9, 100-metre breaststroke. She added three bronze in the 200-metre individual medley, 100-metre backstroke and 50-metre freestyle in the SB9 class.
