The Saskatoon Police Service had released a picture of a vehicle, in the hopes someone would have information on it, as part of the police investigation of a stabbing March 27th. And it appears their efforts have borne fruit. Just before 1:30 p.m. that Thursday afternoon, patrol officers responded to an apartment building where a man had been stabbed.
Investigators with the Serious Assault Unit determined the victim had been stabbed while inside a vehicle and then he got out and went inside the apartment building in the 300 block of Queen Street where police were called. A 52-year-old-man remains in hospital with serious injuries. On April 30th police located and seized the vehicle, and a male suspect was identified. A 22-year-old man later turned himself in to police and is charged with Aggravated Assault and breaching court-imposed conditions. He also had outstanding warrants for his arrest.
Meanwhile, two arrests have been made in connection to a gun being fired in a hallway of an apartment building. The incident went down on March 28th shortly before 4:00 a.m. in an apartment building in the 3100 block of 11th Street West. No injuries were reported but the Saskatoon Police Service Guns & Gangs Unit investigated, and they have charged two people with firearms-related offences.
And finally, the Saskatoon Police Service has made an arrest in a stabbing that occurred last month. Around 8:00 p.m. on April 10th police were called to a home in the 200 block of Avenue N South where they found the victim suffering from injuries including a stab wound. He was taken to hospital.
The Serious Assault Unit has arrested and charged a 31-year-old man with aggravated assault. Officers learned the victim had gone to the residence after being beat up by four males in an alley behind a business in the 1500 block of 20th Street West.
