Update: Richard McDonald has been located and will appear in Fond Du Lac Provincial Court Monday.

Fond Du Lac RCMP is asking for the public’s help in locating 39-year-old Richard McDonald, who escaped custody at the RCMP detachment on May 4, 2025, at approximately 12:30 a.m. McDonald, who had been remanded into custody on May 2, 2025, on charges including assault and resisting arrest, fled on foot traveling south from the detachment on Main Road.

RCMP are concerned for his well-being due to the cold temperatures in the area.

Officers are actively searching for McDonald, and anyone who sees him is urged not to approach but to contact RCMP at 310-RCMP (7267) or Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
