The Regina Police Service is advising residents of Regina that an offender considered to be at high risk of reoffending is now living in a downtown neighborhood.
Twenty-seven-year-old Jerad Charles has a criminal history including violent sexual offences and kidnapping involving children. He is currently subject to a court order with several conditions, including that he must live at an approved residence, he shall have no contact or communication with any person under the age of 16 years, unless done so under the supervision of an approved person, he cannot go to a public park or public swimming area where people under the age of 16 years may be present. He cannot use a computer system to communicate with a person who is under the age of 16, and he shall not obtain or continue employment, or be a volunteer in a capacity that involves being in a position of trust or authority towards persons under the age of 16 years.
To report any incident involving Charles being in violation of his conditions should be reported to Regina Police or Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers. The RPS makes note that this information is intended to enable members of the public to take suitable preventative measures, not to embark upon any form of vigilantism or other unreasonable conduct directed at this individual.
