The Prime Minister issued a statement Friday unveiling an upcoming Royal visit to Canada.
King Charles and Queen Camilla will visit Canada May 26 and 27th.
The Prime Minister says King Charles III will deliver Canada’s Speech from the Throne on May 27th which will be the first time in nearly 50 years that Canada’s Monarch takes part in the State Opening of Parliament.
The statement says the event matches the weight of our times and closes with “Canada has a steadfast defender in our sovereign.”
Prime Minister Mark Carney meets with U.S. President Donald Trump this coming Tuesday.
