The Saskatoon Police Service says one man has been arrested after officers responded to a weapons complaint. This was at noon Thursday in the 200 block of Avenue R South where one man allegedly pointed a firearm at another man. Officers reviewed video and located a suspect in the 1400 block of 20th Street West. He was arrested. Police say he was found to be in possession of an imitation firearm.
A 26-year-old man is facing seven new charges including possession of a weapon to commit an offence, unauthorized carry of a concealed weapon, possession of a weapon while prohibited, obstructing a police officer, and failing to comply with court-imposed conditions. He was also found to be wanted on multiple outstanding warrants.
At approximately 5:00 p.m. on Thursday officers responded after receiving a report of a woman trying to get into an apartment building and when confronted by a tenant the woman allegedly pulled a knife and then fled the area. This was in the 600 block of 9th Street East.
A short time later police were called to a business in the 400 block of 21st Street East for a report of a woman matching the same suspect description stealing multiple items and threatening an employee with a knife. A suspect was arrested nearby and police seized what is believed to be the stolen items.
A 31-year-old woman is charged with uttering threats to cause bodily harm, possession of a weapon dangerous to public peace, unauthorized carry of a concealed weapon, and robbery.
