Wild pigs are difficult to find and track on foot—but aerial vehicles equipped with optical and thermal cameras have evened the playing field in limited trials.
There was a session about drone use during the online “Wild Pig Summit” held earlier this week.

Lees says wild pig control can vary from one part of the country to another.
Travis McGee is with the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources. It used two drones and cameras at Hawkesbury in March 2024 to locate a pair of Eurasian wild pigs.
Wild pigs are an invasive species that contaminate water sources as well as damaging natural habitats and crops.
