On Sunday at 8:38 p.m. Birch Hills Fire and Rescue was dispatched to a single vehicle rollover with injuries and entrapment within the Rural Municipality of Birch Hills.
A social media post from the organization says crews answering the call couldn’t find the vehicle. Members of fire and rescue as well as RCMP, Parkland Ambulance and Muskoday Fire searched the highways and Rural Municipality roads to find the rolled vehicle.
After approximately 45 minutes it was determined the call was false and crews returned to the fire hall.
Birch Hills Fire and Rescue wanted to stress that making false calls of any type is a crime and a major waste of resources. Fire officials point out that had another call came in crews would have been farther away and important minutes would be wasted simply due to a false call.
