The University of Saskatchewan Board of Governors has appointed a new chair of the Canadian Light Source Board of Directors.
Dr. Martha Crago is experienced in research and innovation, as she has held leadership positions at McGill and Dalhousie universities, and the Université de Montreal.
Some titles under her belt include Vice-President of Research and Innovation at McGill University, chair of the Governing Council of the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council, and chair of the Research Committee of the U15 Group of Canadian Research Universities.
In 2016, she became a member of Canada’s Fundamental Science Review and was awarded an honorary Doctor of Science degree from the University of British Columbia in 2020. Most recently, on March 22, 2022, Crago received the Knight’s Cross of the Order of Merit from the President of the Federal Republic of Germany.
